Thousands of houses in Ukraine have been destroyed by war. However, their owners still keep the keys to doors that no longer exist. These keys have become a symbol not only of loss but also of a connection to home – a symbol of hope for a return.
"They gave us hope," says Iryna Demydova, showing a photo of the tulips. "These three tulips are the most precious to me. They were given to me, my mother, and Katia by men in occupation."
During the evacuation, Olha did not take anything with her, not even a toothbrush. However, she took face serum – a simple self-care ritual that saved her from constant anxiety. She later threw away the clothes she had on while sitting in the basement.
